Photography Program

Do you have a DSLR camera but feel unsure about how to use it? The USA Center for Continuing Education can help! We offer a range of photography courses, starting with the fundamentals and progressing to more advanced topics. Our courses include "Fundamentals of Photography" for beginners, "Beyond the Basics," and more creative options such as "Street Photography" and "Portraits on Location." For those interested in editing and management, we also offer courses in Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop. If you don’t see a course that interests you right now, please check back. We regularly update our offerings with new courses!

Course and Enrollment Information

Certificate Program Requirements:

Students who choose to pursue the Photography Certificate will take all of the "core" courses.
*Core courses are $265 / $240 early bird

  • Fundamentals of Photography (The requisite course for the rest of the program)
  • Going Beyond the Basics
  • Image Management: Lightroom and Other Tools (via Zoom)
  • Image Editing: Photoshop (via Zoom)
  • Great Photos: Composition, Vision, and Style

And complete two (2) of the following elective courses:
*Electives are $215 / $195 early bird

  • Candid Street Photography
  • Nature Photography
  • Shooting in the Dark
  • Portraits on Location
  • Studio Lighting and Portrait Photography

The program may be completed within 12 - 18 months.  All courses must be completed within three (3) years of the first course taken.

 

Vincent Lawson teaches a number of courses including an Fundamentals of Photography, Beyond the Basics, Candid Street Shots, and others!  As a professional photographer, Vincent is a cornerstone instructor for the program.

 

Lance Boggan is a local photographer who teaches image management and  editing courses such as Adobe Photoshop, and Lightroom.  He also teaches Portraits on Location,  among others.
